Workshop Synopsis
The Ins and Outs of Spec Ed and "Read & Write” Workshop:
This workshop will provide you with an introduction to Special Education and what the common terminologies are that are related to it such as IEP's, SBSLT, IPRC's etc.
During this session, you will also learn how to access the Google Suite and the Read & Write for Google Chrome extension from your home in order to aid your child with homework. The Read & Write extension can help aid or further develop reading and writing skills through features such as "text-to-speech" and "speech-to-text" technology. Read & Write also has study tools that allow students to collect highlights from text and create vocabulary lists. Every student in the TCDSB has access to this technology, and because it is "cloud-based" it can be accessed easily from home. During this session you will learn how to fully take advantage of the TCDSB Google Suite in order to ensure your child's success.
